The United States National Bank Building
A historic and iconic property on 2201 Market St. Galveston, locally referred to as the “Frost Bank Building”, has become a high-tech dream – a “smart building,” where smartphones are used to control heating, air conditioning, security, lighting and more. It is a place to both live and work in, with state-of-the-art amenities and technology. Created especially for startups and small businesses, it presents a shift from traditional office spaces. It is a place to live and work in, and to participate in an active community including a cooperative workspace, a spa and wellness center and a yoga studio.

10 Years ago “Gan Hahashmal” was an area plagued with junkies and drug addicts. However, its closeness to Rothschild Boulevard as well as its own rich history made me realize this area is going to be “the next big thing” in Tel Aviv. In order to speed up the “maturation” process of the area, I established “Abushdid”, a trendy restaurant that drew the hottest crowds in Tel Aviv. I also made sure to immortalize the love story surrounding the building, and make it a part of Tel Aviv’s heritage. Soon more businesses were drawn to the area and it began to thrive. What was bought for 17k NIS per sq m was soon sold at 52k per sq m.

The buildings were preserved as historical houses and converted into modern residential buildings. The investment tripled itself in only 24 months.
